One More Thing

Thursday, September 27, 2007
Again, Micah pictures and updates can be found here at Mommy, inc. And to better clarify my reasoning in my last post, I'd like to say that I hope to become more like my older sister Maryanne at Happy Helms. She strikes a great balance between blogging and being involved in relationships within her neighborhood, etc. Before I think about blogging beyond Micah stuff again, I want to learn how to strike that better balance.

Okay, this is really the end! Goodbye!

I'll Give, I'll Hold Nothing Back

I'm giving up this blog to God. I simply don't have the emotional energy for it anymore and He knows I spend far too much of my time focused on it and not on the more important things of life.

The last few days, the last few weeks, I've been praying for opportunities to feel used by God in the small and mundane. Getting to know real life people and really, truly investing in their lives. He's answering these prayers and I am excited to venture forth yet this blog feels like a chain I am dragging behind me as I seek to get going.

You see, for one thing, I don't want to invest, do, serve and then feel tempted to write about it on my blog, hoping to receive an accolade or two...I just want to live more simply. Feel that my efforts are more fully for the moment and for eternity, not for what I can show and tell on my blog, a temptation as I am a prideful individual.

Also, if I ever do begin blogging again for creative/philosophical purposes, I want a clean slate. A whole new blog, a whole new name, a whole new outlook.

Some of you, mainly family, may be wondering...BUT WHAT ABOUT MICAH NEWS AND PICTURES? Thankfully, Rick helped me create a blog recently called Mommy, Inc. and there, I will post Micah pictures as well as any important family updates from our front.

*Again, go here to follow up on Micah!

Thank you to those who have read my blog and to those who have been regular commenters. You have been an encouragement to me and it is always a testament of love and commitment to really appreciating a blog when readers take the time to comment. As one blogger put it, it is a language of love and I would encourage all those many readers who simply sit back and never comment to leave one sometimes. It means a lot to bloggers.

God bless you all and to everyone, I encourage you in whatever you do to make your life count for more than today or tomorrow but for a hope beyond both: eternity.

Black Light and White Gloves

Who Am I?

"I am a flower quickly fading, here today and gone tomorrow, a wave tossed in the ocean, a vapor in the wind. Still You hear me when I'm calling, Lord you catch me when I'm falling and You've told me who I am; I am Yours! I am Yours!"

This morning, mom Rose emailed me a link to this video, a creative interpretation of the song "Who Am I?" by the Christian band Casting Crowns. Not only was I encouraged as I watched it (it was a timely email to receive), but Micah was touched as well, singing along and randomly clapping his approval!

Along with the song, I watched a brief interview with Casting Crowns and as they described the inspiration for the song, I was stirred by this statement:

"Before we can really understand who we are in Jesus,

We have to understand who we're not

and when you getting a picture of who we're not, His love

just explodes and we really get a bigger picture

of who God is."

Who knew that black light and white gloves could create such a stirring effect?! I hope you'll
watch and let me know your thoughts if you do see it (or even if you don't)! Enjoy!:)
